Svādhyāya

Svādhyāya is a week-long program organized by Curry Leaf, primarily intended for selected MTTS Participants.
Svādhyāya will be a recurring program held annually in the month of August.
Svādhyāya is more than just a program organized by Curry Leaf; it embodies a culture that aspires to practice the following:

  • The values of MTTS
  • The problem-solving and thinking approach of "How to Solve It" by George Polya.
  • “Nurturing Critical Thinking” by The Foundation of Critical Thinking.

Every person involved in Svādhyāya is expected to embrace and practice the aforementioned ideas and principles throughout their engagement with the program.
Svādhyāya aims to embrace and encourage active learning, foster collaboration, promote inquisitiveness through questioning, and uphold the standards of quality teaching.

About Our logo

The champa flower also known as Plumeria or frangipani, the theme flower or logo for Svādhyāya, embodies the essence of self-study. Symbolizing beauty, charm, purity, and devotion, this flower represents the transformative journey of self-study. Like the champa flower that blooms and sheds its petals, Svādhyāya embraces the cycles of growth, renewal, and dedication to continuous learning.

Svādhyāya 1.1

This is the first part of Svādhyāya 1. This course is based on algebra with the theme abelian groups. Abelian Groups is an important topic in algebra and have been involved in many areas of Mathematics.

  • Topic: Finitely Generated Abelian Groups
  • Resource Person: Dr. Soumya Dey
  • Resource Person about MTTS: TBU
  • Duration: 12-19th August 2023
  • Number of Participants: TBU
  • Mentors: TBU

Svādhyāya 1.2

This is the second part of Svādhyāya 1. This course is based on topology and more specifically quotient topology. Quotient topology is an important way of constructing newer topological spaces from exisiting ones. This is a must to know for all students aiming for higher mathematics studies.

  • Topic: Quotient Topology
  • Resource Person:Dr. Sachchidananda Prasad
  • Resource Person about MTTS: TBU
  • Duration: 15-22nd August 2023
  • Number of Participants: TBU
  • Mentors: TBU
